The Omega Speedmaster CK2998 Pulsometer was introduced at BaselWorld 2018. Earlier this week we took delivery of one, allowing me to do another What’s in the Box? post. Below I’ll walk you through all the bits and pieces that come with the Omega Speedmaster CK2998 Pulsometer.
When an Omega watch is shipped to your local Authorized Dealer, the watch and cards come in the clear plastic shipping container. It’s not unusual for jewelers to through them out though! The container has a sticker with the reference number and serial number of the watch. A limited edition such as this CK2998 also has the limited edition number on it. The CK2998 Pulsometer comes with a warranty card and the pictogram card.
The CK2998 Pulsometer comes with a dedicated booklet / certificate, with an introduction by Raynald Aeschlimann, the product description, and instructions on how to use a pulsometer scale.
On the front is Walt Schirra, the NASA astronaut that took the original CK2998 to space during the Sigma 7 mission in 1962 – which earned it the nickname First Omega in Space.
The Omega Speedmaster CK2998 Pulsometer is shipped from Omega to your local Authorized Dealer in a cardboard outer box, but this too is often discarded as it is just meant for protection during shipping.
In it is the proper box, pictured above with the black sleeve.
Remove the sleeve and we see the first Omega logo. Box in box in box – it’s starting to feel like a Matryoshka doll, but we’re getting closer to the actual box now!
On the side of the black cardboard box there’s room for the famous red Operating Instructions and the sleeve for the cards.
The box itself is made of some type of black wood. It is the same one as used with the previous limited edition CK2998.
The grey velours matches that of the card sleeve. On the inside of the lid we see the Omega seahorse logo.
These are all the items that should come with the Omega Speedmaster CK2998 Pulsometer. For a run-through of goodies that come with the regular edition Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch please check my earlier post. As far as I know the CK2998 Pulsometer is sold out.
The Omega Speedmaster CK2998 Pulsometer was supplied by Ace Jewelers, our favorite Authorized Dealer for Omega watches.
