The smooth style and integrated bracelet are an acquired taste – not for everyone. However, we tend to like it.. It is 100% different compared to a regular Speedmaster, but it shares the same DNA.. The same movement.. and the iconic name! It reminds us of other integrated bracelet watches like the Ingenieur SL, the Nautilus, the Royal Oak.. Very sleek, subtle and nice. But to each his own of course!
The example pictured here is one from our private collection. Well worn, but it hasn’t lost any of its charm. They are not hard to find at the right price – it might be a good investment, especially in excellent/ good condition. In our humble opinion, these eighties style watches will gain attention in the next decade.

As you can probably tell by the pic above, this version of the caliber 861 Speedmaster is quite a bit harder to wind than the regular Speedmaster Professional.. The crown is tucked away nicely in its oversized protectors.

In each Teutonic Speedmaster, the caliber number is engraved in the caseback – quite unusual. You might also note the ‘Seamaster’ medallion..

You are right – they can be found at very reasonable prices on Chrono24.com for example. Your Speedies will for sure command a higher price.
