Far too long ago I posted the invite for The Moon Room, the pop-up Speedmaster lounge by Ace Jewelers. Today I finally found time to upload a few pictures and do a little report.
The 2016 Omega Speedmaster Master Chronometer Moonphase has been widely covered, but have you also seen this gold version with white dial? It’s a beast- far from traditional, but strangely appealing!
The Moonphase is powered by Omega’s 9904, a 9300-derived movement with pointer date at 9:00 and moonphase at 6:00 – numbering might be slightly different for this gold version, but no details are out yet. The moonphase is done with great eye for detail.
Our friends over at WatchBase have all the details on these covered.
The Speedmaster is one of the most versatile watches when it comes to straps – this thing looks good on just about anything. So how about a Speedmaster Professional on leather NATO? Pretty sweet right?
Omega’s NATO straps are available through our friends over at Ace Jewelers.
How about this Omega Speedmaster Professional Apollo 11 45th Anniversary 318.104.22.168.06.001 on original Omega titanium bracelet?
Whoops – it’s been over two months since we last posted on SpeedyWatches.com! We’ll make it up soon and that’s a promise.
On a small note, we’ve been busy integrating a big part of our research and picture archive to WatchBase.com, where great things are happening!
Anybody in for some chocolate?
Roel, owner of Amsterdam Watch Company, is one of the most passionate Speedmaster collectors we’ve come across in the Netherlands. While he often has stellar examples for sale in his lovely shop and on his website, his private collection is even more so to die for. We’ll leave it up to Roel to go into depth if he so chooses [and we’d be happy to feature them], but for today he choose to share a few pics of one of his daily beaters – a ’69 Speedmaster with a wonderful tropical / chocolate dial.
